Welcome To All 4 Paws Maine Coons

MAINE COON CATS

Our Maine Coons come from superb European bloodlines with pedigrees, champion ancestry, and worldwide registries. Our King and Queens are all DNA tested with negative testing results. Each cat carries specific traits to further solidify superior Maine Coon kitten quality. Every one of our kittens has the most loving, social temperament which we hold to be most important as a breeding trait, along with healthy strong genetics.

Maine Coon Facts

Maine Coons are one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, and they almost went extinct in the 1960’s. They are considered top friendliest and affectionate breed of cats. These gentle giants love to be social and among their humans, and can get along with everyone (kids, dogs, and cats very easily ). Maine Coons are recognized by their tufted paws and ears, called Lynx tips, pronounced mane, and coon like tails. They mature until 3-5 years old, and are extremely intelligent and stunning. It’s no wonder they are so loved and a sought after breed.

Your Maine Coon Breeder in Northern California

At All 4 Paws Maine Coons, based in Northern California, we are dedicated to raising healthy, beautiful, and well-socialized kittens. Our breeding cats come from carefully selected, healthy lines, with comprehensive DNA testing performed on all kings and queens to ensure strong genetics and vitality. Each cat is chosen for both its striking appearance and wonderful personality, and all are thoroughly health-tested.

“We don’t want you to have to face unexpected surgeries or testing when you bring home your kitten. Our goal is for your kitten to be happy, healthy, and ready to be loved and to play.”

Our cats live with us as family members, and their kittens are handled from birth so they grow into affectionate, well-adjusted companions. They enjoy a spacious home, outdoor enclosures, and a dedicated playroom filled with toys and climbing structures.

We breed only from cats free of genetic disorders such as HCM, SMA, and PK-def. Regular health screenings and full compliance with TICA’s Responsible Breeder Program ensure the highest standards of care. As a closed cattery, we maintain a safe, clean environment to protect the health of all our cats.

When you adopt from us, your kitten will be fully vetted, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, litter-trained, and ready to thrive in your home.

One of my favorite quotes, which has stayed with me throughout the years, is shared below. It’s a quote I try to honor and live by every day—in my profession, in my daily life, and in my overall outlook on how to navigate the world.

“We only see well with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eyes.”

– excerpt from The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

We carry this same core belief into our Maine Coon cattery. My love for the breed began over 20 years ago, when I rescued a Maine Coon who was scheduled to be euthanized at an animal shelter in the Bay Area.

Over the years, this breed has captured my heart more and more. Maine Coons are highly intelligent, intuitive, and vocal, often communicating with soft chirps. They are interactive, loyal, and dog-like in their companionship, while remaining the gentle giants they are known to be. Their calm demeanor makes them wonderful family members—and in my experience, some of the best emotional support animals you could ask for.

Today, we share our lives with four male Maine Coons, our original feline family members, along with four dogs. Each of them has their own story:

Jack

Jack is our oldest and most benevolent ruler, keeping both feline and canine companions in line.

He has faced challenges—needing hip surgery on both sides due to severe hip dysplasia, a condition that can affect up to 33% of Maine Coons. Unfortunately, there is no genetic test for it. While part of the condition is hereditary, rapid growth in kittens (especially males) can also contribute.

We encourage slower, proportional growth, as males can continue to grow until age two and may not develop their full coats until two to three years of age. Females, by contrast, reach maturity sooner.

Felix

Felix is our second oldest Maine Coon and also a rescue.

He developed a ureter stone and underwent surgery at UC Davis to have a ureter stent placed, but unfortunately rejected it. In the end, he had to have the blocked kidney removed.

Despite his challenges, Felix is thriving. He’s affectionate, loyal, and one of the best snugglers you’ll ever meet.

Drako

Drako, now three years old, has been a true warrior with an enormous heart. He’s a sweetheart who always wants to be in the same room with us.

Like Jack, Drako also struggled with hip issues and required surgery on both hips. Earlier this year, he developed life-threatening pneumonia after inhaling food, which caused the collapse of all the lungs on his left side.

He ultimately needed those lungs removed, as they could not reinflate and had developed a mass from the foreign material. Thankfully, Drako survived the emergency surgery and today he’s thriving—living happily with just his right lung.

Perseus

Perseus (Percy) is our newest addition, just over two years old. He came to us from Missouri and, after overcoming a serious gut infection as a kitten, has grown into a handsome 22-pound boy.

Percy is the ultimate social butterfly—curious, water-loving, talkative, and deeply sensitive. His unique gray patches make him especially distinctive.

We affectionately call him “The Grinch” because of his crazy toe fuzz that seems to evolve as he grows—one of the many quirks that makes him the stunning boy he is today.
